Today's CLO

Today I will either write, speak, or demonstrate my knowledge of ligature logos,

so that I can create a personalized ligature styled logo. 

 

I know I have it when I have successfully designed a logo that incorporates ligature logo styles by directly using my sketch combined with a variety of Illustrator tools.

Letter Form Exercise

Continue with the letterform exercise. 

 

Typography Letterform Exercise

  1. Create a new AI doc that is 6x6” with 4 artboards. 

  2. Explore fonts and sizes to create a unique and abstract shape in each box. Take your time to explore fonts, size and position. 

  3. Create a Clipping Mask by drawing a square above the letter. Select the square and letter, Control Click and select Create Clipping Mask. 

  4. Isolate just enough of each letter to hint at what letter it is while exploring positive and negative space. 

  5. Create 4 different compositions, which will be used in your brainstorming.
